Day 01 :
Arrival in Addis Ababa | City & Culture

Arrival at Bole International Airport and meet your guide. Begin a city tour visiting the National Museum (Lucy), Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Entoto Hills for panoramic views. Evening welcome dinner with traditional music.
Overnight: Addis Ababa

Day 02 :
Addis Ababa → Arba Minch | Rift Valley Drive

Drive south through the Great Rift Valley. Stop at Lake Ziway to observe birdlife and local fishermen. Continue through scenic farmlands and villages to Arba Minch, located between Lake Abaya and Lake Chamo.
Overnight: Arba Minch

Day 03 :
Arba Minch → Dorze Village → Konso → Jinka

Morning visit to the Dorze people, famous for tall bamboo houses and weaving traditions. Continue to Konso Cultural Landscape (UNESCO site) to explore terraced hillsides and stone villages. Drive onward to Jinka.
Overnight: Jinka

Day 04 :
Jinka → Mursi Tribe → Turmi

Early departure to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, known for lip plates and body painting. Continue to Turmi, heartland of the Hamer people.
Overnight: Turmi

Day 05 :
Hamer Tribe | Cultural Encounters

Explore Hamer villages, learning about social customs, beadwork, and hairstyles. If timing allows, witness a bull-jumping ceremony, a key rite of passage.
Overnight: Turmi

Day 06 :
Karo & Nyangatom Tribes | Omo River

Drive to the Omo River to visit the Karo tribe, masters of body painting. Continue toward the Nyangatom tribe, pastoralists living near the Kenya border.
Overnight: Turmi

Day 07 :
Turmi → Arba Minch | Lake Chamo

Return north to Arba Minch. Afternoon boat safari on Lake Chamo to see crocodiles, hippos, and birdlife.
Overnight: Arba Minch

Day 08 :
Arba Minch → Addis Ababa

Fly or drive back to Addis Ababa. Free afternoon for rest or local markets.
Overnight: Addis Ababa

Day 09 :
Addis Ababa → Bahir Dar

Morning flight to Bahir Dar. Afternoon visit to Blue Nile Falls and local villages.
Overnight: Bahir Dar

Day 10 :
Lake Tana Monasteries

Boat trip on Lake Tana to visit island monasteries such as Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Mariam, known for ancient manuscripts and wall paintings.
Overnight: Bahir Dar

Day 11 :
Bahir Dar → Gondar

Drive to Gondar, stopping at Awramba community village. Explore Fasil Ghebbi (Royal Enclosure) and Debre Berhan Selassie Church.
Overnight: Gondar

Day 12 :
Gondar → Simien Mountains National Park

Drive into the Simien Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afternoon walk to spot gelada baboons and dramatic escarpments.
Overnight: Simien Lodge / Camp

Day 13 :
Simien Mountains | Nature & Hiking

Full day exploring the Simien Mountains with guided hikes. Enjoy views of deep valleys and spot endemic wildlife including Walia ibex.
Overnight: Simien Mountains

Day 14 :
Simien Mountains → Axum

Drive or fly to Axum, the ancient capital of the Axumite Empire. Evening at leisure.
Overnight: Axum

Day 15 :
Axum | Ancient Civilization

Explore Axum’s Stelae Park, St. Mary of Zion Church, royal tombs, and archaeological sites. Learn about Axum’s role in early Christianity and ancient trade.
Overnight: Axum

Day 16 :
Axum → Lalibela

Fly to Lalibela. Afternoon visit to the first group of rock-hewn churches.
Overnight: Lalibela

Day 17 :
Lalibela | Rock-Hewn Churches

Full day exploring Lalibela’s second group of churches, including Bete Giyorgis, one of Ethiopia’s most iconic monuments.
Overnight: Lalibela

Day 18 :
Lalibela → Addis Ababa | Departure

Morning flight back to Addis Ababa. Farewell lunch or coffee ceremony before transfer to the airport for departure.
